For Doing Hard Things. Even When You'd Rather Not.

Our Story

Don't Get Beat by a Burpee started as a mantra between my daughter Jessi and me.

It began, quite literally, with burpees.

I despise them. But I'd shared with her how I fight through them anyway because I know they're good for me. Somewhere along the way, the phrase became shorthand between us for doing the hard thing, even when we'd really rather not.

One day, we were talking about something difficult one of us needed to do when she turned the words back on me:

"Don't get beat by a burpee."

In August 2026, Jessi was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at just 15 years old.

Suddenly, those words took on a much bigger meaning.

As Jessi began treatment, our family faced challenges none of us would have chosen. We started taking things one day at a time, doing what needed to be done, even when it was difficult.

So we put the words on a shirt.

What began as a fundraiser to support our family during Jessi's treatment grew beyond anything we expected. More than 400 shirts and hoodies went out into the world. Friends, family, teammates, colleagues, and even people we'd never met began wearing the words.

And people kept asking for them.

That's how this little shop came to be.

The circumstances that brought these shirts into the world are personal. But the message isn't limited to our experience.

We all have burpees.

Maybe yours is an actual burpee in a workout. Maybe it's a difficult conversation, an unexpected challenge, or something you know you need to do but would really rather avoid.

Whatever yours is, don't let it beat you.
